Fishing opportunities are plentiful in the Rockport area.  At Kontiki itself, two piers stretch out into the bay. The newer pier on the north side is lighted. Trout and Red Drum or Red Fish are commonly caught.  The lagoon area nestled in the harbor by the boat launch can also be a great place for Red Drum, Speckled Trout, and Flounder.  These are also wonderful places to fish with your kids.  The younger ones especially enjoy the abundance of smaller fish such as Piggy Perch, Yellow Tail, Croaker and small Sand Trout.  With the warm water this past year, we even had schools of small grey snapper moving into the area.  Perch sized and just big enough to clean, they are tasty pan fried.

All guests staying at Kontiki have free use of the boat launch and boat slips.  Reefs abound in Fulton and Copano Bay and for an experienced angler, the action can be spectacular.

Rockport Beach Park also offers a great area to fish. Right off of Little Bay, there is plenty of areas to park and fish from the bank.
